Class #3: Holding the Camera

Today's class was partly practicing how to hold a heavy DSLR camera steady in low lighting with no flash. These are some shots I took in class today, which I think turned out rather well.

Crough

As an architecture major, "life on campus" is too often synonymous with Crough (the architecture building). It is still pretty early in the semester, and, for the most part, the building is kind of desolate and incredibly clean. Every square inch of wall and desk space is not completely covered with drawings, trace, print-outs, models, and materials yet, and most of what is here is still leftover from last semester.

It is interesting, though, how the floor is so much more worn in the space
between the Plotter Room and the CAD Lab (halfway down the hallway).
I never really noticed that until I took this photo, four years later...

Studio and Pin-up Space
That last photo has me analyzing the wear on the old gym floor in all of these photos of
Crough now. I think it's interesting how all of the circulation spaces (hallways, stairs, 
entrances) are completely distinguished from stopping spaces (studios) simply by the
wear on the floor. The little bit of wear that appears to extend into this studio space
is actually at the base of a set of stairs behind the wall that lead up to the mezzanine.

One senior is already all settled and moved in--comfy chair, studio schedule pinned up, an orange, roll of trace unrolled and at the ready...

There's always random supplies scattered around the building. This is a pile of leftovers from last semester.

You would think architecture students would know better than to clutter a circulation space.

Week 1: Life on Campus

Assignment 1: Photograph anything of your choosing that describes your life on campus.

I like to start my day with a cup of coffee, so why not start documenting life on campus with my brewing coffee pot?

This is my view of campus from Seton Hall.

The photos for this assignment were shot using the automatic settings on my camera.
